Curriculum Vitae

Dr Konstantinidis jointed the Department in  2009 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2014. He holds a doctorate in Mechanical Engineering from King’s College London (2001), a master in Process Engineering from University College London (1997) and a Diploma in Chemical Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1996). His research work concerns fluid mechanics using experimental and computational methods. He applied these methods mostly for the study of unsteady separated flows around single and arrays of bluff cylinders. His research interests include:

 • Vortex dynamics in bluff-body wakes and their interaction with forced perturbations

• Excitation mechanisms of flow-induced vibrations involving bluff bodies

• Flow, heat and fouling characteristics in heat-exchanger tube bundles

• Characterization of turbulent flows and identification of coherent structures
